Optigan Demonstration at Vintage Keys Studio

Optigan 35001 Stereophonic Custom with Reverb from circa 1970

Steve from Vintage Keys Studio demonstrates the functions and a little of the internal workings of our Optigan 35001, which he salvaged in a broken condition and brought to (almost) full life a few years ago.

This optigan has an onboard amplifier with two channels, one for the accompaniments and effects (brown keys to the left) and one for the keyboard sounds.

All of the optigan's optical discs had a full keyboard set on it, plus rhythms and 5 effects which could be read by any instrument in the Optigan range, by Mattel.

The discs we used on this video were 'Big Top Marching Band', 'Rollin' Easy' and 'Big Band'.
