Disney Adventure cancelled our cruise after less than 30 hours onboard, due to engine & propulsion problems. But surprisingly, that wasn't the biggest problem...

In our full and honest Disney Adventure review, we take you aboard Disney Cruise Line's newest and largest ship, sailing from Singapore, to discover what really happened to us. Plus the other issues, and we talk about the Iron Man rollercoaster. From crowded decks and limited pool space to rotational dining compromises, Disney adventure cabins, Animator's Table, San Fransokyo Street, Kids Club, Disney Oceaneer, Hiro Training Zone, Spellbound Bar, noisy public areas and a surprising lack of balance for adults, basic cabins, and disappointing food at the buffet. This is a Disney cruise review unlike any we've made before.

Disney Adventure is unique because, unlike Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream and Disney Magic, it was not originally designed as a Disney ship. The Disney Adventure began life as the unfinished Genting Global Dream, later purchased by Disney and transformed into the Disney Adventure.

Compensation and reimbursement: A number of viewers have asked what arrangements were made following the cancellation. According to the letter provided to guests, Disney offered a full refund of the cruise fare, a 50% future cruise discount, hotel accommodation on the first night, coverage of certain flight change fees and a process for claiming additional expenses. As individual circumstances vary and some claims remain ongoing, we are limiting our comments to our own experience.

We also compare the scale and layout of the Disney Adventure against experiences we've had aboard the rest of the Disney fleet, as well as major mega-ship competitors including Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas, Oasis Class ships (Oasis of the Seas, Wonder of the Seas, Utopia of the Seas), MSC Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Carnival, and Princess Cruises.

For long time Disney cruisers, Disney Adventure may come as a genuine shock.
