Lions VS Warthog. Lion cubs learn to hunt. Warthog fights back and almost escapes.

This video was taken at Kwandwe Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Check out their channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/KwandweReserve
The Harsh life of wildlife.
Two lionesses try to teach 4 lion cubs how to kill a warthog. But then things take a turn when the warthog starts charging at the lions at 2:36 and keeps fighting till one lioness had enough.

Nature can be very cruel. But it is also very important for these lion cubs to learn these lessons, as one day they will need to teach their offspring. These cubs are around 6 months old and will only really start successfully hunting on their own at around a year and a half. From now till then they will be learning how to become successful hunters through experiences like this, watching the adult members of the pride and also playing with each other which they do from around 2 weeks old. Watch this video of them start play fighting at just 5 weeks old.

Some may wonder why this lioness has a collar on? Because there is a decline in lion populations throughout Africa their are a number of conservation areas that are trying to preserve these wild animals. This lioness was sick and treated by a vet, the collar then got put on to monitor her progress. When they cubs reached the age of 1 they collar was removed. This particular lioness is still alive now and has had another litter of 3 since.

Watch as this warthog gets up and charges the lions. TURN UP THE VOLUME AT THE END when the lioness decide enough is enough.

ENJOY
