After comparing Edifier R1700BT with Edifier R1800BT and learning that they sound more or less the same, I was expecting the same result while comparing Edifier R1280DB with Edifier R1280T. The reality is bit different from my expectations though, so I encourage You to listen carefully to this comparison before making Your decision. Me personally, I find R1280T a bit clearer sounding and, if You do not need Bluetooth and digital inputs, I would recomennd it as it is more affordable.
