Don’t try to be over smart: SC scolds Murtaza Wahab | SAMAATV

During the hearing of the Nasla Tower case at the Supreme Court Karachi Registry in Karachi, Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of Administrator Karachi and reprimanded him.

On Monday, Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab submitted details of Rifai plots in the city and a report on ending the occupation in the court. However, the court expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of Administrator Karachi.

The Chief Justice inquired as to what steps have been taken since assuming office and how he would rectify the city. Murtaza Wahab said that the city has many problems and has been looking at them for a long time. He said that the metropolitan government was trying to increase the revenue of Karachi.

Murtaza Wahab told the court that the situation in Karachi had not deteriorated in the rains this year. Expressing anger over this, the court slapped Administrator Murtaza Wahab and said that answer what was asked and do not try to be more smart. The court further told them to be quiet because you have not done anything for the city, don't talk too much and if they have done anything, they should write it down.

The Chief Justice further inquired as to how much he had complied with the order to stop encroachments. He could not implement what he had ordered. He further remarked that running a city is different from sitting on TV and talking.

The court asked Murtaza Wahab to submit reports on the number of Rifai plots in the city and inform him in writing about the steps taken to end the occupation.
