Clan Mythology #21 - Æ and W. B. Yeats: Secret Chiefs of Ancient Ireland's Kabbalah
This episode begins in 9th century Ireland at a time when Celtic priests were speculating how, when and why universal creation might have happened. Getting beneath the hyper-colorful veil of cosmic energies, magic hazel trees, sea giants and fountains of creation, within the structure of these creation myths we discover Irish holy men and their mystical Jewish counterparts held virtually identical cosmogonies.
How has all this gone unnoticed? It hasn’t. In the early 19th century both Irish literary geniuses, Æ and W. B. Yeats, were active Freemasons, Rosicrucians and hermetic kabbalists. While contemporary magicians like Aleister Crowley and Madame Blavatsky focused their meditative studies on Egyptian, Greek and Norse pantheons, Æ and Yeats walked a road less travelled into ancient Ireland’s creation myths where they unearthed many allusions to the kabbalistic tree of life.
This episode not only visualizes Æ and Yeats’ kabbalistic discoveries within Irish myths, but it builds on their work extending deeper into the spiritual dynamics surrounding the emergence of the Celtic Irish gods; Lir (Keter) Manannán (Chockmah) and Dana (Binah), the mystical creation trinity of the Tuatha Dé Danann.
