Gettysburg's Forgotten Graveyard

During the early 1800s, the German Lutheran and Reformed congregations created a graveyard at the southeast corner of Gettysburg. With the establishment of Evergreen Cemetery south of town in 1854, many congregations moved their graves to this new location. In 1927, the last of these old stones - some 200 - were taken from the corner of Stratton and High Street and placed flat in a special section of Evergreen Cemetery. Join ACHS historian Tim Smith to learn about the many prominent Gettysburg citizens forever entombed in this forgotten burial ground.
