An Old Norse expert looks at American Gods (particularly Mr. Wednesday/ Odin) and how it relates to the original sources of Norse myth in the Poetic or Elder Edda.

Dr. Jackson Crawford is a historical linguist and an experienced teacher of both Old Norse and Modern Icelandic. He currently teaches in the Department of Scandinavian at the University of California, Berkeley (formerly at UCLA), and as of August 2017 he will be teaching at the University of Colorado Boulder.
