Due gaglioffi alla ricerca di avventure e di gonzi da truffare si travestono da preti e spacciano un braccio putrefatto per la reliquia di San Luca, guadagnando soldi a palate. Poi imbrogliano un avido frate che usa il confessionale per arricchirsi, e quando questi lo scopre si autoassolve. In seguito i due compari introducono Filippo travestito da donna nell'alcova della moglie dell'oste Trafone, salvando dalla disperazione frate Martino che aveva dimenticato le mutande in casa dell'amante. E per burla i due le espongono come reliquia ai fedeli. Gli imbrogli però non sono ancora finiti: i due, sempre travestiti da frati, si servono di donne per ricattare un principe.

Two ruffians in search of adventure and dupes to cheat disguise themselves as priests and peddle a rotten arm to the relic of St. Luke , earning money hand over fist . Then cheat a greedy monk who uses the confessional to get rich , and when these finds out you autoassolve . Following the two cronies introduce Filippo disguised as women in the alcove of the innkeeper's wife Trafone , saving despair Brother Martin who had forgotten her pants in her lover's house . And in jest the two exposes them as a relic for the faithful . But the shenanigans are not yet finished : the two , always disguised as monks , they use women to blackmail a prince .
