Almost TIPPED the Truck! 😱 | Finding a Secret Forest Paradise (Week 27) 🌲🚛

Slowing down is harder than it looks, but Week 27 of our two-year adventure across the United States forced us to do exactly that—after a massive scare!

We kick off this week by visiting the incredible Soda Dam Springs, but the real magic happens when a friendly local turns us onto a secret. He points us toward a hidden green gate leading into the Jemez National Forest.
However, getting to paradise wasn't easy. The road past the gate turned into a brutal, deeply rutted, and heavily off-camber nightmare. With our heavy cabover camper sitting high on our 25-year-old Ford F-250 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel, the lean got absolutely terrifying. For a few tense moments, we genuinely felt like we were going to roll the rig and potentially end our entire two-year trip right then and there.
Thankfully, the legendary 7.3 pulled us through, and we spent 5 glorious days completely disconnected, resetting, and secluded in the natural beauty of the forest.
After shaking off the adrenaline, our rig crawls us out of the forest and towards Natural Tunnel, a random hole in the earth on our way to the Angel Peak Scenic Area. We secure a spot at the Angel Peak Free Campground for a few days of desert hiking and mind-blowing canyon views that honestly rival Badlands National Park!
To wrap up an unforgettable week, we immerse ourselves in history at Aztec Ruins National Monument and scramble our way up the sandstone cliffs to stand under the massive, hidden Cox Canyon Arch.
Truck life isn't always smooth, but when you survive the sketchy trails, the reward is always worth it.
