The Most Disturbing Murder Case You’ll Here All Day #scary #horrorstories

On the evening of 14thNovember 1959, ex-convicts Perry Smith and Richard Hickock set out on a 400 mile journey across Kansas heading towards the family home of wealthy farmer Herbert Clutter. They had been tipped off by a former employee of Herbert that a large amount of cash was kept in a safe at the home. They reached the house in the early hours of 15th November and entered through an unlocked door. They terrorized and tied up Herb, his wife Bonnie and two of their four children; teenagers Nancy and Kenyon.

After being unable to locate the safe, the assailants flew into a rage and savagely murdered the four family members by shooting them in the head, Herbert also had his throat cut. They then fled the scene empty handed. The sad truth is there was no safe there never had been. Six weeks after the senseless killings Smith and Hikcock were arrested, convicted and sentenced to death.
