Te Waikoropupū Springs 8th Jan 2021 | Takaka | New Zealand

A visit to the tranquil Te Waikoropupū Springs (aka "Pupu Springs")...
The day was a bit windy which made it harder so see through the water surface.
Te Waikoropupū Springs are the largest freshwater springs in New Zealand, the largest cold water springs in the Southern Hemisphere and contain some of the clearest water ever measured in the entire world!

The horizontal visibility of the constantly 11.7 °C cool water in the springs has been measured at an average of 63m (207ft) and until 2011 was considered second only to sub-glacial water in the Antarctic. Since that year, however, the record holder for fresh water clarity is Blue Lake, also in Tasman District.
