Venezia - From the sky

Welcome to #Venice the #Serenissima!!
Indeed the most #romantic city in the world ❤
Our trip to this enchanted Italian beauty will start from the #LibertyBridge 0:16
( #PontedellaLiberta ) that connects the islands of the Venetian lagoon to the land. Then will turn left through the #JewishGhetto (landmark area with a temple & museum), crossing the lagoon to the charming isle of #Murano 0:41(measures about 1.5 km across with a population of just over 5,000, It is famous for its beautiful glass making) and the #BasilicaofSaintMaryandSaintDonatus 0:58. From here we will move to the little isle of #SanMichele 1:15 (where the church is a basilica in the classical #Renaissancestyle and its brilliant white marble gleams above the blue water of the lagoon) before arriving to the historical #VenetianArsenal 1:30 ( #ArsenalediVenezia ) that is a complex of former shipyards and armories clustered together. Owned by the state, the Arsenal was responsible for the strategic bulk of the Venetian republic's naval power during the middle part of the second millennium AD. Then we'll arrive to #PuntadellaDogana 2:08 (an art museum in one of Venice's old customs buildings) and the beautiful #BasilicadiSantaMariadellaSalute 2:19 (visible when entering the Piazza San Marco from the water. #TheSalute is part of the parish of the #Gesuati and is the most recent of the so-called plague churches). Then continuing on the #Dorsoduro neighborhood we'll encounter the #GalleriedellAccademia and the renowned #UniversitàCaFoscari 3:04 (founded in 1868). Then following up the #GrandCanal 3:06 (or #CanalGrande) we'll arrive to one of the most famous bridges in the world: the #RialtoBridge 3:20 (is the oldest of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice). Crossing the bridge we'll arrive to the #SanMarco island to see the #PiazzaSanMarco 3:52 (often known in English as #StMarksSquare ) is the principal public square of Venice and a religious and political centre of city. From here we could admire the #SaintMarksBasilica 4:03 (it is the most famous of the city's churches and one of the best known examples of Italo-Byzantine architecture) has been the city's cathedral only since 1807. Standing in the middle of the square is the #StMarksCampanile 4:21 (it is the tallest structure in Venice and one of the most recognizable symbols of the city) and next to the campanile is the famous #DogesPalace (founded in 1340), a palace built in Venetian Gothic style, and one of the main landmarks of the city of Venice. The palace was the residence of the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the former Venetian Republic.
