Paris Delivered (1944)

Point of view shots from army vehicle of crowds welcoming the allied troops as they advance through the streets near Paris. M/S truck load of FFI (French Forces of the Interior) soldiers, they fly the French flag. More shots ecstatic crowds, many make 'v' for victory signs. Various shots of Parisians at the roadside outside Paris, they are refugees waiting to enter their city.
M/S General Charles de Gaulle with a cigarette hanging from his lips. M/S of General Jacques Leclerc. M/S of General Koenig, head of FFI, being greeted in Paris. Various shots of American soldiers in street battles. They flush out German snipers from buildings not yet taken over by the allies. A tank rams the gates of one of the buildings. French soldiers add support in the street fighting. Various shots of allies nearing the area around Les Invalides. Various shots of French soldiers rounding up German prisoners. More shots street fighting, German tank burning, civilians run to shelter from gun fire.
Aerial view flying over one of the wide boulevards of Paris. Pan down Eiffel Tower to show German prisoners on truck. Various shots of soldiers running and civilians taking cover around base of Eiffel Tower. M/S of two French soldiers with pictures of Hitler and Goering stuck on the ends of their bayonets. More shots street fighting behind barricades. Various shots of civilians tearing down barricades to let the allied armour through. Aerial view of another boulevard.
Various shots of the Champs Elysees and the crowds round the Arc de Triomphe. French woman hands out flowers to allied soldiers. Various shots of Gen. de Gaulle at Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, he is seen to lay large wreath. British soldiers and French gendarmes also lay wreaths. Famous shots of de Gaulle walking down Champs Elysee amongst cheering crowds, including good C/U. Various shots of the General in open topped driving through crowds on the Rue de Rivoli.
Dramatic shots of civilians in the streets diving from sniper fire. Red Cross units rush in and pick up wounded amid the panic. French armoured detachments return the fire and eventually the snipers cease. French policemen drag captured German snipers through angry mob. The prisoners are taken into the Hotel de Ville. More shots of the parade down Champs Elysees and we see British and French tanks and men of the FFI (French Forces of the Interior).
Note: cameraman was Kenneth Gordon - he's mentioned in commentary. Part of the narration is by "an official broadcaster of the French delegation in London", he gives his personal viewpoint of the liberation.
