Grinding Ear Corn/Jersey Calf Born

It's time to grind some more ear corn for the heifers. Alan put the International 1256 on the 420 Artsway Grinder Mixer. The test load of corn we ground didn't heat at all, so we do a full load today. We unload the corn into one of our Sioux Grain Bins.
Meanwhile, one of the cows that Jen has eagerly been waiting for to calve finally goes into labor. One of our older Jersey cows, June, had a Heifer calf that Jessica named, Peanut! June received calcium pills because Jen suspected her labor was stalled due to a bit of milk fever. After June got the pills, she made much more progress in her labor. After she calved, Alan milked her into a fresh cow bucket and got a bottles worth of colostrum. Jen tested the colostrum with a refractometer and the quality was great! After the calf got fed, she got a calf coat to keep her warm.
