The 22.13-kilometer-long Tianshan-Shengli Tunnel, the world's longest expressway tunnel, officially opened to motorists on December 26 in China’s Xinjiang region.
Toby, a British YouTuber, visited the tunnel a few months ago. He said the tunnel was incredible, as it traverses the central Tianshan Mountains, significantly shortening the travel time between northern and southern Xinjiang to approximately three hours.
He looks forward to traveling to Xinjiang in 2026 and recommends a road trip there.
