Iran President Rouhani, Turkey President Erdogan, Emir of Qatar Attend Malaysia Summit

▶️ World leaders gathered in Kuala Lumpur, Thursday, December 19, for an Islamic conference aimed at tackling Islamophobia and finding solutions to challenges facing the Muslim world.
👉 Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, a high-level delegation from Indonesia and Islamic scholars are among those attending the three-day Kuala Lumpur summit.
All of the leaders were scheduled to speak at the conference Thursday.
The program had indicated that discussion panels will center on general topics such as national development, good governance and security.
Saudi Arabia is one of a handful of Muslim nations not in attendance at a four-day conference in Kuala Lumpur aimed at addressing some of the Islamic world's thorniest issues.
The conference, dubbed the Kuala Lumpur Summit, was organized by Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. It is expected to discuss such issues as the plight of the Muslim Uighurs in China's remote Xinjiang province, where millions are being held in what critics are calling internment camps. (VOA/AP)
