Chvrches - Night Sky | acoustic guitar lesson

These videos are designed for guitar beginners or those with only limited guitar knowledge. They use simple chord shapes as much as possible and do not necessarily represent the way in which the song was originally played. They are designed as practice tools to supplement your other learning methods. Information is provided on screen for both right and left-handed players!

I really enjoy taking a song that wasn't originally done on guitar, and making an acoustic strum-along arrangement of it. Night Sky works really well in this form. It really only uses C, Em and D (with a capo on fret 1, so it's really C#, Fm and D#) but it nicer to embellish the C major by substituting Cadd9 or Cmaj7, and the D sounds great as a Dsus2. I've used different forms of some of these chords throughout for different effect.

The song continues with this pattern all the way through. I've very much done it my own tastes, so you can feel free to arrange this with whichever chord shapes you like, and the strum pattern is yours for the choosing.
