Navy Federal Credit Union Late Night Card Hack No Longer Works!

This video covers the topic of Navy Federal Credit Union's late night credit card hack that has become popular because people were able to get approved for a $25,000 credit limit on a card that they applied for. Navy Federal has a reputation for giving higher limits to people than they likely would be able to get applying with a bank or another credit card company. Today I share my experience applying for my first Navy Federal credit card.

This year all of my credit cards that I have applied for have been with Chase bank. After being approved for the Southwest, Sapphire Preferred and Freedom Unlimited cards, I wanted to apply somewhere else. I chose Navy Federal because of their high limit reputation, the fact that most of the time they pull from Transunion (sometimes Equifax), and Chase usually pulls from Experian. I have also been a customer of Navy Federal for about a year and half, but have never applied for a credit card from them.

There is an option to go through a prequalification process on the website. After you have been prequalified based on a few questions, you will be shown which cards are available to you. I was fortunately prequalified for all 6: nRewards Secured, Navy Federal More Rewards American Express Card, Visa Signature Flagship Rewards, GO REWARDS, Platinum and cashRewards. I applied for the Flagship Rewards, and was approved, but definitely not for $25,000 that seemed to be rather common for other people.
