Roblox and Hate Groups

“When playing Roblox, children need to be monitored 24/7. And if that’s not possible, then they shouldn’t be playing.” This is what a whistleblower recently reported to the BBC.

This comes as no surprise, as it has been revealed that hate groups have been using grooming tactics to recruit kids online.

Recent research has come out that hate groups have been targeting kids online in order to indoctrinate them and their methods are reminiscent of what child predators are doing.

They initially make contact via an online game like minecraft or roblox or over social media like twitter but shift the conversations to less moderated channels like telegram or discord.

This has led to a 42% rise in terrorism investigations of children in Europe and North America as well as several recent acts of racial violence and terrorism by minors being linked to hate groups via these online platforms.

As a parent, what can you do? Communicate with them and monitor their internet usage. Stay vigilant and learn about what they do online, talk to them about what they may be seeing on the internet and limit or restrict what they do online.
