How To Use The North Bergen Park & Ride To Travel Into NYC

The North Bergen Park & Ride is ideal for travelers visiting New York City who prefer to avoid driving into Manhattan and paying expensive parking rates.

In order to enter the North Bergen Park & Ride, a ticket selection must be made by pushing a button for an Adult Round Trip ticket or a Senior/Disabled Round Trip ticket. Once the ticket is dispensed, a security gate will lift, and entry into the parking lot for 24 hours is granted.

After parking your vehicle, be sure to bring the parking ticket to the kiosk. The parking ticket includes one roundtrip ticket from the North Bergen Park & Ride to the Port Authority Bus Terminal located at 625 8th Avenue, New York, NY. By inserting the parking ticket into the kiosk, one set of roundtrip tickets are dispensed. Additional roundtrip tickets can be purchased. At the time of this video, the $10 parking fee includes one roundtrip ticket, while additional adult roundtrip tickets can be purchased for $6.50 each.

Once all tickets are obtained, stand in line until the bus arrives. Depending on the time of day, buses arrive around increments of 15 minutes apart. The roundtrip ticket is perforated and includes a yellow stripe, making it distinguishable from the parking ticket. Hand the roundtrip ticket to the bus driver upon boarding. The bus driver will tear one half of the ticket and keep it, and then return the other half of the ticket which is to be used for your return from New York City.

The return trip to the North Bergen Park & Ride departs from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, and at the time of this video, uses the 320 bus route. There are a few customer service booths located inside of the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which is the best way to talk to a real person about which bus to board if you are unsure.

In order to leave the North Bergen Park & Ride, the parking ticket must be inserted into the kiosk. This is the same parking ticket that was dispensed upon initial entry.
