Climbing Technology releases the new Click Up + belay device for 2018. The new device (an update to the Click Up) increases rope range (now 8.5 -11 mm), is much safer in the event of misuse with the addition of the V-Proof System, reduces weight (now 110grams), improves control while lowering, improves paying out of slack, increases ergonomics, and adds a new top roping feature which makes capturing slack more efficient. The Click Up + will be sold, and must be used with, the Concept SGL HC belay HMS carabiner. When it hits the market (hopefully by fall of 2018) it will likely give the new Mammut Smart 2.0, the Black Diamond ATC Pilot, the Salewa Ergo, and the Edelrid Jul2 a run for their money.
