Donald Trump's former chief of staff Mark Meadows held in criminal contempt of Congress

The US congressional committee probing the deadly 6 January assault on the Capitol voted on Monday to seek "contempt of Congress" charges against Mark Meadows, who served as White House chief of staff to former President Donald Trump. "He is in contempt of Congress," said Republican Liz Cheney, who sits on the U.S. House committee probing the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riot, referring to former President Donald Trump's then chief of staff Mark Meadows, and his refusal to testify before lawmakers on the attack.
