In the early 19th century during Emperor Napoleon’s march through #Europe, the Hussars – his light cavalry – would open bottles of #champagne using their side sabres on a field of battle.

The technique was refined in the early 20th century and for more than 30 years the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or has taken extreme pride in celebrating champagne with its spectacular artistry.
