let's focus only on Oklahoma, cause that's the first we're hearing of their interest in LaMelo Ball. Yes the same coach that believed in LiAngelo enough to offer to sign him in the G-league, now has the power to call him up from the G-League and onto the thunder's NBA roster.
This is right here is a huge development, because OKC has one of the best development systems in the NBA, let's use Lu Dort example.
An overlooked prospect went undrafted in last year's NBA draft, proved himself with OKC blue, earned himself a two-way contract, and finished his season, with 30 points in game 7 of an NBA playoff game.
I'm not saying Gelo is gonna emerge through the ranks as quickly as Lu Dort did, but the blueprint is there for gelo to follow suit. And if his younger brother is the franchise cornerstone, with a coach that believes in him, Gelo will almost certainly get the NBA opportunity he's been waiting for, with the OKC Thunder next season.
