Actor and Indigenous advocate Lily Gladstone delivered a powerful address at New York's "Rise Up" concert, drawing on Native history, community, and resilience to speak about the challenges facing the United States today.

Representing the Blackfeet and Nez Perce Nations, Gladstone reflected on Indigenous survival through generations of displacement and adversity, arguing that lessons from Native communities remain relevant in the current political moment. Using the American buffalo as a symbol of resilience, she urged people to face challenges together rather than in isolation.

Gladstone also highlighted the history of the Lenape people, whose land became modern-day Manhattan, and spoke about the importance of community, democratic participation, and collective action.

Her remarks culminated in a message that drew loud applause from the audience: that communities survive and move forward by standing together through difficult times.
