Forging a Kitchen KNIFE out of Rusted BEARING
This time I forged extremely sharp Kitchen Knife out of rusty Bearing. This is Japanese style knife and it is very efficient and durable. The steel blade was hardened and tempered also Copper bolster added to a handle.
To operate such Razor Sharp knife it is necessary to have some Basic knife skills. This steel has very high carbon up to 1% does not rust so quickly and has great sharpening potential. For a sample I took a model of culinary "Petty" or sushi knife - Japanese word for a paring or utility knife and it came from the French word “petite”. It's really Perfect to slice fruits and veggies and also equally as handy for work on a cutting board. This beautiful knife is now used in my own kitchen and I like it . I hope you enjoyed watching this video. It is my number 10 uploaded video on YouTube! :) Please leave your comment below and press LIKE 👍
Materials I used: a half of rusty Bearing for a blade, Stained Oak for handle (bog oak) and for Bolster took small Copper plate. The Japanese style of knives is really impressive, they are very sharp and perfect for kitchen. In the process I used an available tools and my own hands, this project took me 8 days of accurate work.
