The frontline feedback behind Smart Shooter's fire control tech | Yoav Galster | CTech

“We are ensuring the hits, compensating [for] both the target movement and the shooter movement," says Yoav Galster, Product Manager at fire control system company Smart Shooter. Established in 2011, the company recently completed an IPO on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, raising $65 million at a valuation of nearly $293 million.

Galster spoke with CTech’s Amy Shapiro during the Defence Tech Expo 2026 in Tel Aviv (17 February 2026), an event that highlighted a period of maturation for the Israeli technology sector. In the wake of October 7, the local defense industry has accelerated from rapid adaptation to a sustained "gold rush," driven by battlefield-proven solutions and a global increase in defense spending.

As Galster explains, the growth and tech agility of Smart Shooter are supported by direct insights from its workforce. Beyond having combat experience in the IDF, many employees remain in active reserve duty.

"So most of our employees are doing this kind of dual work and this is why we can implement the things very fast in our systems," Galster notes.

He adds that this close connection to the frontline is vital because "once the battlefield is changing, you have to change with it."
