ROKR Pendulum Clock: Assembly and Tick Tock

Building the pendulum clock wasn't terribly difficult and the result is gorgeous. Getting it to work for more than two minutes initially, however, was quite tricky. Try the following:

Check that the mechanism works freely without the pendulum. Then wind up the spring as tightly as you can to maximize the energy in the clock. Check that the tick and the tock are as equal in length as possible (by sitting the clock on as level a surface as possible). By winding the clock to its full capacity on a regular basis, I've found that it's moved from a full run of about two hours to something over five now. I can only conclude that activity helps overcome the glitches in the mechanism.
