Do you consider yourself a short-term trader or a gambler? Charlie Burton, trader and educator comments. Does trading give you a buzz, or is that exactly what you would warn against, mixing in emotions when deciding whether to click on the buy/sell button? We take calculated risk based on probability and sensible risk management so if you want to define it as professional gambling - then it is. The buzz comes from the general challenge of trading. Yes, I do get a buzz when everything works out well - but I do try to limit the highs and lows. Certainly my passion for trading hasn't changed. A lot of beginner traders will jump from trading method to trading method because they are seeking to be as right as possible.
