Starting Vanlife in New Zealand! | South Island Freedom Camping

We're Kate and James and this is the first video of our series as we travel around New Zealand in our beloved van, Doris.

We love getting travel tips from Youtube vanlife videos so we thought we'd share ours! We really are a couple of lucky ducks travelling around Covid-free New Zealand at the moment; hopefully this helps scratch an itch for other cooped up travellers!

In this video we travel from Sweden to New Zealand, do our two week mandatory hotel quarantine, convert our beloved Doris into a camper van and take to the road on the South Island! We're talking food bugs, van building, cold water swims, and how slippery rocks can be sometimes (spoiler: very).
