Yosemite Park 1993

In May 1993 to celebrate our fifth anniversary early, Liz and I headed to our favorite spot on earth ... Yosemite National Park! It was a glorious spring weekend and the waterfalls of Yosemite were roaring from all the winter snow melting. To our surprise the first day at the park we unexpectedly ran into our dear friends Dave and Ann! We joined forces and visited Mirror Lake then hiked up the Mist Trail to Vernal Falls. Vernal Falls was in it's namesake spring time glory and was raging! We bid adieu to our friends and headed to the Wawona Inn for a day of relaxing. We wound up the trip by taking the southern way out of Yosemite on Highway 41 to Oakhurst where we briefly visit the closed Erna's Elderberry House restaurant at Chateau du Sureau. We hoped to have lunch but were disappointed to see they were closed. Sadly we've never eaten at this wonderful restaurant or stayed at the chateau!
