Martial Law In Tel Aviv & Jerusalem (1947)

Tel Aviv & Jerusalem, Palestine (Israel).
Following the terrorist bomb outrage on the Goldsmith officers club martial law is declared (operation Hippo) in Tel Aviv and the Meah Shearim district of Jerusalem.

A tree lined street (Allenby Road, Tel Aviv) almost deserted, showing empty bus stops. MS. A line of idle buses. MS. Horse drawn taxis carrying passengers along the streets. MS. A barrier across road being raised to allow a van to pass. MS. Bread being delivered from a van. MS. Bread being handed over a barbed wire fence. LS. Long queue outside the inquiry office set up by the army authorities.
