Peter Yarrow was an American singer-songwriter who rose to fame as one‑third of the 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary. Born May 31, 1938 in New York to Ukrainian Jewish immigrants, he studied psychology at Cornell University before immersing himself in the Greenwich Village folk scene alongside Paul Stookey and Mary Travers.
