Record-Triggered Flows on Content Document - Spring 26 Release
In this demo video, we walk through a real-world Salesforce automation use case where we prevent Invoice files from being deleted using a Before Delete Record-Triggered Flow — with zero Apex code.
Traditionally, developers used Apex triggers on Files to control deletion logic. However, with modern Flow Builder enhancements on ContentDocument and ContentDocumentLink, we can now block file deletion declaratively, making the solution simpler, faster, and admin-friendly.
Using Flow, we automatically stop users from deleting Invoice documents linked to Closed Opportunities, ensuring audit, finance, and compliance protection.

👉 What you’ll learn in this video:
✔ Creating a Before Delete Flow on Files (ContentDocument)
✔ Fetching related records using ContentDocumentLink
✔ Filtering only Opportunity-linked files (006 prefix)
✔ Checking Closed Opportunity status
✔ Validating file title contains “Invoice”
✔ Showing custom error messages to block deletion
✔ Replacing Apex triggers with Clicks Not Code automation
📌 Perfect for:
Salesforce Admins • Developers • Architects • Compliance teams
