How to configure bridge network in VMware Workstation. VMware: Bridge, NAT, Host-Only Part-01
What is Bridge Network on VMware?
Bridge mode allows your VM to act as its own device on your network, with its own IP address. This is beneficial if you're running services or applications that require direct network access, or if you want to mimic a real network environment.
How Bridge Network Works?
Bridge mode means you are directly connected with outside switch. Here you can see that our VM IP that inside to my physical server and other physical computer’s IP are in same block is same.
That’s means VMware’s VM machine and physical machines is connected same bridge domain or same switch. So, any computer on your network can directly communicate with VM.
Security Risk on Bridge Mode VMware.
However, bridge mode can also present some challenges. For instance, you may need to have enough IP addresses available on your network for your VMs, and configure them manually or with DHCP.
Additionally, your VM is exposed to the same security risks as other devices on the network, so you must protect it with firewalls and antivirus software.
Lastly, you may run into some conflicts or errors with certain network settings or devices, such as MAC addresses, DNS servers, or routers.
