ONTARIO DUCK HUNT - FILMING FLIPS | ST. LAWRENCE RIVER

I met Cory earlier this year and ended up making him video about his duck calls.

We kept in contact after that...and we got along pretty well. Hunting season was here.

After one weekend out with his crew, I got invited back over and over again. I spent almost every weekend hunting and filming their hunts.

Cory told me before we went out for our first hunt that birds will often flip to get down to the ground quicker. I didn’t buy it at all, birds flipping upside down? Ok. But sure enough on our first hunt there were birds flipping like crazy coming into the decoys.

It’s hard getting good footage of them because they're in flocks of 20-30 birds and after you focus in on one or two its just a guessing game whether or not they’ll flip. Missed lots of times but I wanted footage of that before the end of the season.

Wasn’t having much luck. And finally on a chilly morning on the St. Lawrence, on one of my last hunts with them. It happened.

It’s also not easy getting footage of ducks in general. They come in so damn fast like little fighter jets. But every now and then, it works out perfectly.

Thank you Cory for taking me out as much as you did for your generosity throughout the fall. And to all the guys I met down there and hunted with, thank you.
