citect scada analogue alarm created by equipment part24

In this tutorial, we explain how to create and configure an Analog Alarm using the Equipment system in Citect SCADA, which is part of EcoStruxure Plant SCADA from Schneider Electric.

Analog alarms are used to monitor continuous process values such as temperature, pressure, level, or flow. When the value exceeds predefined limits like High, High-High, Low, or Low-Low, the SCADA system generates an alarm to notify the operator.

In this part, we create an analog alarm linked to an equipment variable, which helps organize alarms and tags using the equipment hierarchy structure.

What you will learn:

Create an equipment type and equipment instance

Link process variables to the equipment

Configure Analog Alarm limits (Hi, HiHi, Lo, LoLo)

Assign alarm priorities and categories

Generate alarms automatically from equipment variables

Monitor analog alarms during runtime

Typical applications:

Tank level alarms

Temperature monitoring systems

Pressure control alarms

Industrial process monitoring
