In 1969, hydrogen fuel cell provided electricity to Apollo 11 on its journey to space, and so enabled mankind to journey to the Moon. Furthermore, astronauts drank water that was produced as a byproduct of the hydrogen’s electrochemical reaction.
50 years later the chemical element became an integral part in launching the eco-friendly mobility of the future.
