In this video I take a look at the NUX Morning Star Overdrive. The Morning Star is their take on the classic Marshall Bluesbreaker tone. The Bluesbreaker Mk1 pedals have shot up in value and many high end clones have appeared on the market but NUX have come in with the Morning Star to offer people this classic tone without breaking the bank.

This pedal takes you from a warm pushed boost tone to a cranked Marshall style drive. It won't take you to heavy metal territory, but it will give you that warm, fat 60s British Blues rock tone.

Aside from that classic Bluesbreaker tone, NUX have also added something they call the Shine mode which is an additional top boost that can be added by holding the footswitch down. This adds some extra brightness on top of your tone.

In the video I am using my Stanford Crossroad Thinline 35 which is plugged into the Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 which is mic'd up with a Lewitt Audio LCT 440 microphone.
