482 Visa. Australia's MAIN work visa. 3 Streams, Requirements and 3 Step Application.

The Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482) replaced the 457 visa in March 2018. It is a major employer sponsored visa and heavily applied for. Due to its great demand and use, as well as tightening immigration regulations in the recent years, the requirements were made tougher. The 482 visa is nonetheless still highly sought after.

There are 3 subtypes under the 482 called the Short Term stream, Medium Term stream and the Labour Agreement stream. They all operate differently, with different occupation lists and requirements. Only the Medium Term and Labour Agreement stream has a direct pathway to permanent residency. We go through what the main requirements are and how the 3 step application works.
