I've been testing the GoPro Hero 8 for about a week at the time this video was filmed, and wanted to do a direct comparison versus the Hero 7 with regards to stabilization as well as image and audio quality. I decided to mount them side by side and compare them while snowboarding around Keystone resort. After looking at the footage I think there is no question that the new GoPro Hero 8 offers a significant improvement over the previous models, and honestly I don't think I will be using a gimbal moving forward for the majority of my videos. When hypersmooth was introduced in the 7 last year it was a game changer, and hypersmooth 2.0 has taken things to a whole new level. I hope you all get some value out of this video and that it will help you out if you are deciding between the hero 7 and 8. While the Hero 7 is still an amazing camera, I think it is well worth it to spend a little bit extra for the benefits you'll find in the GoPro Hero 8.
