One day I will be dust, and nothing measured will remain. All made level: the same. Like the scene disappearing so quickly out the back of a speeding car. Something appearing at first large shrinks in a few moments inevitably collapsing in the wake of your rushing forward. How, then, clear the view springs into focus ahead. With razor clarity whole palaces of petty vice. As they approach Mountainous trackless, towering. As they pass, decimated down, to the same collected tiny point that all must fall behind. Every careless word, act, thought, every moment spent wasting after some imagined slight, because I was certain, that I thought, that I knew, what was wrong, must be made right. It does not matter. In time, it will be a different matter and nothing to do with me. Therefore, I cast always into rushing water. And know that, equally, what is carried away from me, is carried to me. What is taken, is what is given. And How-ever a comet burns, passes or crashes, before the eyes that beheld its course cut cross the sky, they take heart from the light, not the dark of its flight, before it fades, and in its due time must die.
