‘Margins are tight’: Farmers are feeling the heat as fertiliser costs more than double

Primary producer Charlie Blomfield highlights how the fuel supply crisis is driving up costs for farmers and disrupting the food supply chain.

“It's a world of uncertainty that everybody’s living in at the moment,” Mr Blomfield told Sky News Australia.

“Supplies of our key inputs at our crucial time of year, when we are planting crops and growing our effective income for the next 12 months is … all thrown up in the air.

“If we grow less… the price of what we do have goes up.”
