Hitman: Absolution -01- A Personal Contract

Here begins my walkthrough of the 5th game in one of my all time favourite video game series; Hitman: Absolution. Now I have read and watched many reviews stating that Absolution is a bad Hitman game that does away with everything the series was known for. I personally don't agree. I mean, the first time I finished it I did agree, because I completed it rather fast (for a Hitman game) and I only used about a total of 8 disguises in that first playthrough, completing majority of the chapters with suit only. What kind of a Hitman game is that? Admittedly I did drop the difficulty from Hard to Normal halfway through the game and completing levels with suit only was also very much possible in Blood Money, but still. However, now that I've played the game a bit more I do think that Absolution is a great Hitman game despite it's differences and for me it's the game of the year 2012, easily, and has been right from the very first time I started playing it.

The story of 47 this time around starts with a bang, for series enthusiasts at least. Most people probably don't even know the games ever had a story and think 47 is a personality-free mad-dog killer.
Diana Burnwood, 47's previously trusted handler who has worked with him throughout the series and even saved 47's life in Blood Money has now apparently betrayed the Agency by exposing their agents and stealing something very important belonging to the Agency. She has been found to currently reside in a mansion in Chicago with hired bodyguards protecting her around the clock, so today 47 is tasked with infiltrating the mansion, assassinating Diana Burnwood and retrieving the stolen Agency asset, a young girl named Victoria.

I'm playing the game on Purist mode and collecting all the evidence during the playthrough for one specific reason: to force myself to play the game like a Hitman game. On normal with no evidence collected it would be far too difficult to resist just sneaking past everyone in the suit, and that's no good. I haven't played the game on PS3 before this as I own it for PC as well, and I've only tried the first half of the game on Purist before this, so I cannot guarantee what exactly will happen. Naturally this won't be any kind of "max high score" type of run because being a fresh game I haven't done any challenges to multiply the score, and I don't think I want to be too anal about perfection so I might knock guards out here and there and then just leave them lying around.

Let's get killin'.
