WWE 2K20 NXT Cruiserweight Championship (Kushida vs. Santos Escobar) (NXT 5/11/2021)

Kushida defends the NXT Cruiserweight Championship against Santos Escobar in a 2 out of 3 Falls match. On the April 13 NXT, Kushida defeated Escobar to win the title after the latter issued an open challenge for any NXT cruiserweight superstar to come out and attempt to take the NXT Cruiserweight title from him. The next week, after successfully defending the NXT Cruiserweight Championship against Oney Lorcan, Kushida was attacked by Escobar and his stable Legado Del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza). On the April 27 NXT, Legado Del Fantasma defeated the team of Kushida and MSK (the NXT Tag Team Champions) in a six man tag team match. On the May 4 NXT, Kushida issued a challenge for Escobar to use his championship rematch clause, in to which the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion accepted the match.
