How to mute the microphone on your PS5 controller

This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to mute the microphone on your PlayStation 5 controller.

The Sony PlayStation 5 video game console has a DualSense wireless controller with a built-in microphone. If you don't want to use the built-in microphone, you can mute it by pressing the microphone button directly below the PS button on your controller. Alternatively, you can press the PS button on your controller, click on the microphone icon in the PS5 Control Center, and then click on the mute option. You can also change your settings to keep it off by default. To do so, go to Settings, click 'Sound', select 'Microphone', click 'Microphone Status When Logged In', and select 'Mute'.
