People wanted Trump and Biden to 'go at it' but Wallace 'cut it off'

Sky News host Paul Murray says Fox News' Chris Wallace "was the story" to come out of the first US presidential debate because every time the debate started to ramp up "he cut it off".

"And that's the problem, every time this thing started to get good ... he cut it off," Mr Murray said.

The first US presidential debate has just concluded from Ohio, with President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden squaring off on a number of crucial topics before the upcoming election.

Mr Wallace was the debate moderator and often had to intervene between the two men.

"Wallace went into this debate saying he wanted to be invisible," Mr Murray said.

"He was anything but and he was obviously frustrated with Trump's tactic".

Mr Murray said people wanted to see President Trump and Mr Biden "going at it".
