Reopening Ceremony Isaac Hale Beach. Big Island Kilauea Lava 2018

After the lava destroyed everything in its path, there was a traditional Hawaiian blessing ceremony to Pele, goddess of volcanos. Pre school children from Pohoiki participated. The ceremony includes ho'okupu or offerings of plants to renew the land. We were honoured to be able to attend.
