☕ Day 3: Coffee Bar – Countertop Creation Begins! 🌊✨🪚

Quick recap: The closet is cleared, painted, and our custom trash/recycling cabinet is built and perfectly in place! 🙌

Today, it was all about building the base for the countertop! I created a template using cardboard from the cabinet packaging, and Greg cut it out of 1/2" plywood. I primed the wood and got to work with the resin!

Since we were short on time before heading out of town, I used Stone Coat Countertops Quick Coat (it cures faster—and I had plenty of resin leftover!).

To kick off the beachy, lake-inspired look, I started by mixing 4 oz. of resin with sand from the beach and a little white glitter. I applied that along the front edge to create the shoreline. Then, I mixed 16 oz. of resin with blues and greens using alcohol inks and poured it behind the “beach.” I saved a bit of that to mix with white pigment and used my heat gun to create foamy white waves where the water meets the shore.

I ended up not blending the colors as much as I had planned—it turned out more tropical blue than lake green, so I was a little nervous…
